The “Green Course” is launched at Golf della Montecchia
In 2018 Golf della Montecchia confirms its commitment to carry ahead the “Biogolf” case study on the “Percorso Giallo- Yellow Course”, which is the first attempt ever towards an utterly organic maintenance of a golf course.
The project, launched in 2015, is developed at the behest of the Istituto per il Credito Sportivo, the Italian Golf Federation and other major environmental organizations (GEO, Legambiente, Federparchi e Fondazione Univerde) and with the scientific support of the Universities of Bologna, Pisa, Padua and Turin.
The encouraging evolution and considerable results of the study are earning the attention of all Italian Golf venues and other bodies .
Thanks to this study, in 2016 Golf della Montecchia was acknowledged once again the G.E.O. certification, and in 2018 was awarded the prestigious “IAGTO Sustainability Award”.
In view of the above, to be consistent with the Biogolf project and with the purpose of making our members and hosts part of our mission to foster environmental protection, we deemed it appropriate to change the name of the 9 holes involved in the case study from “Percorso Giallo -Yellow Course” to “Percorso Verde -Green Course”.
